Château Léger

Two days on the road brings us to the coastal town of Shediac, New Brunswick. Home of Danie and Emery (you met them here) as well as the largest lobster in the world.

Shediac

I’m about to be schooled in the art of eating lobster but in the mean time I take advantage of the hot tub and meet this guy too…

Finn

We head out to the seafood market to get our lobster: shock number one – they’re already cooked and we’ll be eating them cold. I’m so naïve.

Lots of laughs over dinner where I learned how to eat lobster properly and effectively including how to sex then and find the Virgin Mary.

This gathering also gave us the opportunity to get to know two of their three girls. Julie (Finn’s investment broker), who’s beginning courses to become a massage therapist and Gabrielle who just finished medical school – along with her beau Joey. We did get to know Claire through her artwork around the house as well as her signs along the trails. Such a wonderful family.

The evening wrapped up with a quick drive down to the water to see the sunset.

In the morning we were encouraged to try out their fat bikes in the woods. Lots of fun and such a different ride.

We said our goodbyes after coffee and lobster omelettes heading to PEI in what would be our last day of cycling.

Emery, Gabrielle and Charles
