A break but not “my Waterloo”

I was starting to think about a day off during the trip from Milton to Waterloo. I emailed the host (Tom) for the following night to see about his flexibility and he was good. Asked Beth over dinner that night and she was okay with the idea. I have to say, I was immediately relieved.

Finally, some company along my route! Way to go Benny

A day to not pack up, to enjoy a relaxing coffee and see if there were any bike shops in town with Brompton tires. I knew that was going to be a tall order but worth a try. I got lucky on the first call to King St. Cycles.

Headed downtown along the new ION LRT taking in the University campus and beautiful parks along the rail line.

Picked up the tire and then stopped at a pub for a bite to eat in the shade. Beth recommended Lady Glaze doughnuts for dessert and I was too easily swayed. Threw in a milkshake to fuel the return tripšŸ˜. Waterloo is a very pretty city.

I spent the afternoon changing my tire and patching the tubes that I’d been neglecting since the first day’s flat. That led to a pleasant dinner compliments of Isabella and once again, stimulating conversation and many, many laughs. Beth is still struggling that she never experienced Grandma’s exquisite bath and complimentary sponge. I’ll have to stop bringing it up.

Thoughts?
