Another nice ride along the Waterfront trail brought us to Guildwood Station where we will catch a train to Brockville. So nice breaking up the usual nine-hour trip into smaller segments. We arrive in Brockville, find the Tait’s Bakery and then head north to Merrickville into a headwind. We did well, swapping the lead every four kilometers.
Merrickville
Nana’s is a wonderful bakery and BnB. We have the whole place to ourselves and were even visited by the resident cat. A wonderful meal at the Yellow Canoe Café featuring Perth Brewery beer. Quiet evening, nice coffee in the morning and off to watch a little-league tournament behind the bakery.
Packed up and headed home via Manotick where once again food factored into the stop. We made the stop at the Black Dog last long enough to have a drink with Bill! He was testing out all his gear at the local Provincial Park. You can read about it here.
It was nice to get home and pick up Ricky.
Great posts Paul
All sounds great. Looking forward to hearing more about it at ball this evening.
This trip sounds like a lot of fun. I wouldn’t mind trying something similar in the future.
Ricky must have been relieved to see you guys again!
I have an idea of doing something similar on the Amtrak train from Montreal to New York
