Good to be home

Penny and I got up early to head back to the observation deck to see the sunrise as well as the bridge crossing at Levis (Québec City).

Sunrise from the observation deck

It was a calming ride along the St. Lawrence through lush farm fields. We got to sample local cheeses from the attendant and finally we see the bridge approaching. We stop in St. Foy (was hoping we’d go all the way to Québec City). Then a conductor joined us in the lounge to communicate with the engineer as we backed out of St. Foy to the mainline to continue our trip to Montréal.

Packed up our stuff as we pulled into the station and used the two-hour layover to get some fresh air in downtown Montréal and a coffee.

Grabbed some lunch while waiting to board and we’re off to Ottawa. I don’t remember much of that trip as I was snoring obnoxiously through the whole trip.

Our last ride (with a stop at Dairy Queen) was a nice way to wrap things up on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon taking in the many picnickers at Vincent Massey Park. Grace was waiting and anxious for us to take over the care of our little Ricky whose own anxiety got the best of him in our absence.
