Our many modes of transportation

As we wait for our bus to Truro I thought I’d recap the number of different modes of transportation used on this trip:

  • Grace drove us to the airport
  • Airplane to Halifax
  • Bike to downtown Halifax via the ferry
  • Rental car to Inverness
  • Biked around the Cabot Trail
  • Bus to Truro
  • And now on the train to Montréal/Ottawa

One last unexpected bike ride

I made an assumption that the bus stopped at the train station in Truro. Penny had her bike packed with the pedal removed and I had removed the rear rack from mine. The bus was a bit late and I’m looking at what we need to do to cycle from the bus station to our train. We’re going to have about fifty minutes and baggage check closes thirty minutes before departure. I’ve never seen Penny unpack, assemble and load her bike so quickly! We’re off and luckily it’s only a couple kilometres. After some ticketing issues we were on the platform; waiting, anticipating and very excited.

Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight

Dana showed us to our room that would be our cozy hive for the next twenty hours. Got the last seating for lunch in the dining car then retired to our cabin to decompress.

At the very back of the train are two older cars one having a lounge and the typical Canadian observation deck. Now I’m really getting giddy. Here’s a view sitting on the upper deck in Moncton:

I’m contemplating a night cap at the back of the train before calling it a day.
