“How are we going to get three bikes and all of Grace’s stuff to Vancouver?”
More importantly, are we going to get almonds on the flight?
I spent about a day on the driveway, with the cats, attempting to turn a cardboard box that Penny found in the neighbour’s recycling into a bike box.
While the bike packing progressed Penny and Grace were performing triage of all her things that had to fit in three pieces of luggage plus carry-on. Of course all of this pretty much at the last minute.
Airport
On the morning of our flight Penny and I drove to the airport very early with the three bikes and two large checked items. Then she went home from where she and Grace grabbed a cab with all our carry-on.
The woman at the oversized baggage was amazing. Even though I had to open up all the bikes I was able to get them repackaged and all checked in no time. All my panicking was for not.
Penny and Grace arrived a bit later, went through security and had a calm breakfast waiting for our flight
Vancouver
Last piece of the puzzle: getting all the stuff to Grace’s new place. Grace suggests an Uber XL saying there’s one close by (she also added that she can’t understand our reticence with Uber). He shows up and is skeptical. We put one seat down and get everything in plus Grace and Penny and I head to the SkyTain.
Grace’s place is great and we start the unpacking process after lunch and drinks at a local pub.
Met Grace’s new roommate Rianna, said good night to Grace and headed to our luxurious accommodation.
You’ll find more posts here (eventually).
I know this is supposed to be all about you but I just want to say how proud we are of Grace, as you and Penny must be as well.
Proud yes. But gonna miss her
